Seoidín O’Sullivan art practice investigates socio-political and ecological narratives that she re-presents in critically engaged and poetical ways through a variety of media. Her projects are research based and often involve working with community. Recent projects have been ‘The Nomadic Mapping Project’ 2011 (funded by CREATE), ‘Collective Dreaming’ 2010 (The Exchange Gallery), ‘Mapping Flight’ 2010 (The Leitrim Sculpture Centre) and ‘The Urban Farm Project’ 2009, (Airfield Trust).
Her collaborative project ‘TACTIC’ (http://www.tacticproject.blogspot.com) received an Arts Council Project New Work Award and an Incubation Space Award in The LAB in 2009. ‘TRESPASS’ http://www.trespass-trespass.blogspot.com ) was awarded Irish Arts Council funding in 2008 and was exhibited in The LAB in 2009. In 2008 Seoidín participated in a two month residency at Rirkrit Tiravanija’s ‘The Land’ in Thailand as part of One Year Project 2. She was artist in resident in Studio 468, St Andrews Community Centre, Rialto in 2007 where she worked on and developed ‘The South Circular Road Community Food Garden Project.’
Seoidín O’Sullivan is an artist and lecturer based in Dublin, Ireland. Seoidin has an MA in Fine Art and Design from NCAD and a Higher Diploma in Third Level Teaching and Learning from the Dublin Institute of Technology. Last year she was part time lecturer at DIT in the department of Art, Design and Printing.
