essomenia artist statement:

My work focuses on topologies of ‘retreat’ and isolation – places one might want to either escape to or flee from: heterotopias, dystopias and non-places. My recent work explores the aesthetic, ergonomic and psychological appeal of various sites such as golf courses; lighthouses; religious retreats as well as the slick digital spaces of computer games.
