essomenia artist statement:
In my current work I continue to explore the idiosyncratic mythology that has occupied me for the past several years. My ongoing story, continuing investigations of the polarities between control and free will, life and death. I work with an archive of images collected from personal photographs, fleamarkets, magazines and newspapers. My work is about the act of researching, about memory, about stories that have happened and films I have seen. I am interested in finding out what happens when you look at something so long, it disappears.
