PHOTOROMANCE Workshop with Carrot Workers’ Collective
Staging the Sagas of our Aspiration
The Lab, Dublin City Council Arts Office, Foley Street, Dublin 1.
Saturday, September 17th 2011, 11.30am – 5.00pm
Calling all students, interns, volunteers, freelancers and project workers on temporary contracts, and whoever identifies with the issue of free and precarious labour in the cultural and creative sectors.
You are invited to an afternoon open workshop of photoromance shooting, storytelling, anecdote sharing and common reflection of our work/life conditions and aspirations. Passions, seduction, desires and betrayal all play a role in the experience of working for free or for badly paid and temporary work.
** Think characters’ impersonations, speech bubbles and gestural tableaux. Bring along wigs, costumes, props and objects that might embody both your present conditions and your future aspirations. This photoromance shoot is a serious investigation in disguise – the end scene is for us to re-write together!
11.30am – 1.00 pm Talk about Carrot Workers and Discussion
1.00pm – 2.00pm Break
2.00pm – 5.00pm Workshop
The workshop is free and open to all. However, to allow us to plan things, we would be grateful if you could email: real@eircom.net to reserve a place.

Hi,
Am interested to know, what is The Drawing Room? Do other events go on there?
thanks
Marion
it is a recession space-empty office building. No other events go on there normally.
